Literacy and Vocational Program (LVP)

Literacy and Vocational Program (LVP) Afghanistan has gone through wars and internal conflicts more than three decades. As a result of war, the education system collapsed and several generations of Afghans became illiterate. The education system restored after the Taliban regime (2002) but we are far from the rest of the world. Still 10.5 million people in age 1 to 15 and above are illiterate. Current capacity of government and other authorities in literacy program covering 600,000 learner per year. Above five million school – age children (7 – 18) are currently out of school. Security problem is still big challenge, especially in southern and eastern provinces of Afghanistan. Insufficient resources, cultural barriers especially for girls and women. SKO has been providing Literacy and Vocational training programs in various parts of Afghanistan by giving value to our culture. We offered forty one literacy & Vocational training courses to approximate (1230) & (820) females of different areas of Afghanistan, for execution and accomplishment of these different programs according to plan SKO has concern teachers. Duration of this project is 12 months which is divided in three different sections, first 06 months we provide basic literacy education, after successful completion of 06 months literacy course second section of 03 months literacy with theory for vocational started and upon completion of both first two parts third and last section is deliver which is for 03 months pure vocational practical training. Those students who cannot finish first 06 months literacy program section they cannot granted for further upcoming vocational training sections.
